If there is anything else CAM members have in common besides the love of Mustangs, it would have to be the ability to eat good and laugh hard. Both activities were in abundance at the 2009 Christmas party held at the Roller Corporate office building on Chenal Parkway in Little Rock.
An ample supply of delicious barbeque and fixin’s was catered by Corky’s Bar-B-Que. In addition, many talented cooks in the group brought a wide array of desserts tempting enough to get us back to the table for more.
Outgoing president Ricky Fischer had the arduous task of tasting each and every dessert offering in order to pronounce the winners of the dessert contest. Officers Tom, Rob, Angie, and Kevin as-sisted. Boy, life is hard.
Winners of the dessert contest were Daphne Koonce first place and Kathy Wilson second. Good job! We would like to send a special thanks out to everyone bringing desserts.Laughter shifted into high gear as this year’s Dirty Santa unfolded. We all learned a new word to add to our vocabulary—elepoo. Who would of dreamed this game could be educational.
The club traditionally holds an auction of donated items, using the proceeds for various charity or-ganizations. Mike Pate bravely volunteered to be this year’s auctioneer. Bidding was lively, bring-ing out the competitive nature in several of our dearest members.
The total raised from the auction was $478.00. The club voted to add to this total and distribute donations of $1,000.00 to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, $500.00 to Pulaski County Humane Society, and $500.00 to Saline County Humane Society.
